CARPET CLEANING OUR WAY
First an inspection is made of the carpeting, this is the
time to point out any trouble spots in the carpeting, if
there are any stains let our crew know what the stain was
caused by, identifying a spot can increase the chances of
removal.
The
carpeting is then pre-conditioned to loosen and suspend
soil.
Next
the carpeting is
Steam Rinsed.
This is the secret to our long lasting results. Don't
assume all methods have a rinse. Most dry methods donot
have a rinse.
Think about it - would you rub soap on yourself or even
your clothes and not rinse?
Rinsing is healthy.
Spots
and stains are worked on while the carpeting is being
rinsed. alot of companies pre-spot meaning they rub spotter
on all the stains before they start cleaning. The problem
with this method is that spotters loosen stains and if not
immediately rinsed out the stains drip into the backing and
resurface as the carpet dries. Proper spot removal consists
of spotter application and immediate rinsing.
Carpeting
is dry extracted with cotton bonets to help dry the
carpeting and remove the last traces of soil.

is brushed to set the pile where needed.

How To Care For Your Carpeting
Traffic
areas are the most important areas to maintain. If soil
becomes ground in and is not removed on a regular basis,
the traffic areas will wear excessively. The dirt can act
like sand paper and rub against the carpet fibers as you
walk across the carpeting damaging the carpet fibers and
diminishing the service life of your carpet investment. You
must react to "danger" spots immediately. Red wine, Kool
aide, anything red, urine, blood, etc., can cause permanent
stains if not addressed immediately.
Here are some steps to properly maintain your carpeting
investment.
1.
Vacuuming
Vacuum your carpeting frequently. Once or twice a week at a
minimum. Vacuuming removes the abrasive soil that can cut
and slice the carpet fibers causing premature wear. Most
soil is not visible to the eye. Vacuum before the carpet
looks soiled. Remove any loose particles such as food,
leaves, pieces of crayon, bugs, etc., as these items can
cause a spot on the carpet.
2.
Professional Cleaning
Carpeting
should be cleaned by a professional once per year. In
extremely heavy traffic areas, cleaning may be required
more often.
Proper professional cleaning will not leave a sticky
residue behind and can be done as many times per year as
needed. Many stain resist warranties require professional
cleaning every 2 years. Professional cleaning removes the
damaging soil in traffic areas that vacuuming has not been
able to remove. Warning: Uniformed carpet cleaner may void
your warranty.
3.
Warranty
Stain resist warranties can vary from 5 to 25 years. All
stain resist warranties require regular cleaning and
immediate spot removal.
Filtration
Soiling
(Those
Ugly black lines around the baseboards and under
doorways)
If
you have light colored carpet, you may have experienced
dark around baseboards, under doors, and especially near
the HVAC return. This soiling comes from air passing
through the carpet as it is attempting to go through the
edge of the carpet pile, microscopic particles of soil are
deposited there (hence the term filtration soiling). This
occurs over a significant period of time and is not noticed
until a build up has occurred.
This type of soiling is difficult to remove because the
soil particles are so fine that they penetrate deep into
the carpet pile, sometimes into the backing of the carpet.
Can it be removed? Sometimes. With special products, time
and effort, reasonable results can be achieved, although
not in all cases.
To
help prevent filtration soiling in the future, vacuum the
edges of the carpeting on a regular basis, then wipe with a
damp, white terry towel. Be careful around the tackstrip
under the edge of the carpeting, you could nick your
fingers!
